  1. Account is locked for migration

  2. Be careful, that's my advice.

  3. Check this website:  http://www.vallartainfo.com/hotels.html#...

My daughter stayed in 2 hotels on Modera St. - Hotel Azteca and Hotel Villa del Mar.  Inexpensive, she felt very safe.  Good neighborhood in "old town" (which is south of the river - Rio Cuale - that goes through town).  Both are just a few blocks from the beaches and nightlife.  I would take a cab home if you're out  late (just as you would in any big city), but daytime fine to walk around alone.  The street food in old town is really good - easy on the budget.  We have eaten street food many many times in and around PV and have never been sick....in case you're wondering about trying it.

  4. old town is fun...we stayed at Los Arcos...which at the hight of the tourist season was 79 USD per night.  i would imagine it would be cheaper now.  it was SUPER cute, clean, and i am soooo glad it had a pool.  what's nice about this hotel is that it's not beach front, but it's "partners" are...the other Los Arcos hotels.  all you do is walk across the street and you have reserved beach front, lounge chairs for free, drink and food service, and the use of the other, bigger pool and hot tub.  it's a great deal.

i once stayed at a hotel that was not beachfront, and had to use public access....which i thought would be fine...and it was HORRIBLE!!!!!  you may pay 50 USD a night for Los Arcos in the winter...but compare that to buying a cooler, ice, chair rental, towels, etc....for all the stuff not provided at the public beach.  not to mention the crowds, kids, etc.. you have to deal with.  plus, i have litteraly walked the entire beach front of vallarta...from old town all the way to the cruise ships...and Los Arcos honestly had the best sand, and beachfront location.  i felt terrible for these people who stayed in resort hotels...all they could do is sit by their pool and barely see the ocean.  and the people staying in those "cheap" beachfront hotels.  honestly, one looked like a freaking prison.  the windows were litterally like portals ona ship...it was SCARY.  remember, you won't be in the club all day...you have to enjoy your hotel.

i like Hilo...i think that's the name...with the huge statue in the front.  also, the zoo, carlos o'brians, and there's this place in old town called andales....super low key and fun for every age.  it gets CRAZY in there....and i mean from the 45-60 year old ladies...they could drink me under the table any day of the week.
