  1. I flew on Qantas to and from Australia.  Also when i went from Sydney to Cairns.  On the flight from Sydney to Cairns, the breakfast food was gross, the sausage was GREEN.

  2. Qantas is expensive. Where are you flying from?

Emirates is a first class airline, even economy/coach get excellent service and treated like first class.

Singapore airlines is another good choice, Japan airlines, Air Canada, etc.. It depends where your flying from, your local airline is usually the cheapest.

Zuji.com can help with coast comparisons.

  3. It depends where you're coming from.

British Airlines, Garuda, Qantas and Emirates are all good.

  4. Qantas.

  5. The cheaper the airline, the worse and more unreliable the service,  that about sums it up.  Some friends flew Sydney - London on a cheap airline.  It was  to make a fuel stop in Manila, they were supposed to be there two - three hours.  They were there 36 hours with no accommodation for them and two infants.  Their luggage was not available either.  That was just the start, but it was the worst of it.

When they came back they said "NEVER AGAIN."  Some of the majors which are more expensive may not be all that wonderful, but compared to the cheapies they are great.

You could have a good experience with a cheap airline but it would be when everything goes right.  The more expensive lines put some of your ticket money into removing some of the more likely problems before they happen.

  6. All airlines in economy class are unpleasant.  Some are mildly less unpleasant than others.  If you are flying from the US, the only direct flights are United and Qantas.  Of those two, Qantas is the least unpleasant.  If you are flying from Asia or Europe there are many other possibilities.

  7. qantas ;)

  8. If you are flying from asia or Europe it would have to be Singapore airlines, lotsa flights to all over OZ,

From the US it would have to be Qantas, not much choice there.

  9. Mate I would go on price, who cares who is the best as long as they get you here.A few hours with a few less movies etc,big deal.Flying long distance is a drag no matter what they give you and you really pay for.

They say Qantas is best, but I been on Malaysian and Air NZ ,as well as Qantas and all were fine.

So it all depends where you are flying from,as there are limited companies allowed to fly here.Find out in a search engine who fly here from where you are, then go to there web page and look for their specials.

You join their on line newsletters and they will email you any specials they have coming up,so you get in first before the general public. If you got plenty of time ,keep searching, you can save heaps.

My family of 5 flew to the USA and went with Air NZ instead of Qantas and saved about $1,600,which was the cost of a nice rental car for 5 weeks.

We joined The Jetstar email list and now my family of 5 are all flying to Hawaii return for $2,500,a steal!

So hunt, save your money, avoid travel agents and have more to spend when you get here.

  10. I have had family and friends fly Qantas and British Airways and they say they are c**p.  Try  any other airline, possibly an Asian one they are real good in my experience.

  11. Sure everyone is going to say Qantas. Last time I traveled Qantas, the flight attendants were rude and they prvided poor service (In economy). I have never flown on any other airline, but cathay pacific looks good, so does Thai, Singapore and Emirates.

  12. I would go qantas....

  13. There is such a lot of good airlines. actually I haven't heard of a bad one. Shop around at your travel agents . If you go to 2 or 3 of them they will probably all come up with something different and different prices. I don't know where you are flying from if it is UK or the USA you might want to consider a stopover say in one of the Asian countries which you can do for very little extra money. If your flying from NZ take a look at the 4 main airlines on line Qantas Air Zealand Virgin and Jetstar . they all have deals that come out often.
