  1. Try teaching at the students house I guess

  2. I learned saxophone from my teacher in a practice in room in the back of a music store. Music stores have those and, i think they, rent them out to teachers to use for their lessons. So hopefully you find a popular store for flowing bussiness and a manger how will give you a good rate.

    =D

  3. This all depends on what credentials you have.  Usually people who teach clarinet have a college degree in music and teach all sorts of instruments.  Why would they come to you for lessons?  If you're professional clarinet player or something you can charge up to 100 dollars an hour.

  4. Can you teach at the student's home?  Why wouldn't you want to teach at school?

Maybe you could teach in a college classroom.  I don't think you really have many options.

  5. I have taught clarinet for about 5 years, and I HATE teaching at home.  I will generally go to the students house, if I'm not teaching through a school or set something up at the kids band room at their school.  A great perk to going to see them is that you can charge more!  I am on the east coast, and not in a big city, so I charged 25 dollars per half hour for a beginner student, and 45 for an hour.  I have friends in New York City that charge 50 for a half hour, and people pay.  Anyway, good luck to you.

P.S. Why don't you want to teach at a school?  I know the pay isn't as good, but it is a good blurb on the resume....
