  1. Dude you can't play JV or Varsity your freshman year..

    I'm a Senior and i know it...

Unless you're really good and talented they'll put you in there.. But is a 1 of 10 chance..

    Just practice a lot..

Oh and from Experience... Coaches want someone who can play DEFENSE!... Trust me.. So in try-outs... Give it all you got and your coach will see how much you're trying and how much you're willing to do to get in.. And that impresses a coach..!

  2. Practice shooting until you can nail shots with ease. Running and jump rope will help your stamina.

  3. Practice is what you do on your own time and you can practice by making up drills that fit you best. Don't cheat though. I'd say to make it as a freshman you need to hustle let the coach know that just because you're a freshman you aren't a liability. Make baskets, steals, rebounds, etc. Be very vocal. The coach doesn't want a timid deer he wants someone that can be a leader. Build your stamina up by running in your neighborhood everyday for like an hour or two. Get on a treadmill. Just make sure that you give those upperclassmen a run for their money.

  4. just practice, and when trying out, you might play scrimmage games. Have confidence, and a good attitude. its part of what they look for in players.

    Practice the basics:

    Free throws

    Lay ups

    dribbling

    some jump shots.

If you have a good three, then practice that too, to make it perfect.

Know what position you want to play, and practice doing that.

    Play 5on5 games with friends.

To build stamina, run, everyday, for at least 1hr, even if you can't run for that long, run and walk, until you can run all of it.

    Jump roping helps too.

    Try to get in

    200 free throws

    300 jump shots

    100 layins from both sides

    a day.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!! and let me know how it goes

    have confidence
