  1. Yes, immediately get on the train to Amsterdam!!

  2. first of all come get me and we'll go from there

  3. Shopping : "La Fayette" , "Printemps", "Palais des Congres",Rue de Passi, Rue de Rivoli , and Rue de Victor Hugot ... ( Champs Elysees as well )

Restaurants: Bocconi ( Italian), Zetti(Italian), Entrecote ( french), LO Sushi ( Japanese), Music Hall , Youmna's(Lebanese),etc...

Tourism: Tour Eiffel, Arc de Triomphe , La Seine...

    Hotels: "California"...

(PS: It's been very cold lately...)

  4. I would recommend Sacre Coeur at Montmartre. Fantastic views, a pretty church and a lovely square full of cafes and artists. Click the following link for a panorama of the church & views: http://www.360travelguide.com/360Virtual...

    Have fun!

  5. defo the moulin rouge and the eiffel tower. there are loads of nice cafes and resteraunts to eat in aswell

  6. The Louvre is great, but I'd recommend the Musee d'Orsay (I'm partial to the impressionists):  lots of Renoirs, Monets, etc.  Also, if you like stained glass, Ste. Chappelle is not to be missed.

  7. the louvre/champs elysee and sacre coeur/montmartre.  You'll see the eiffel tower from the skyline anyway, and it's kind of over rated.

On the flip side, sacre coeur/montmartre is awesome.  Most beautiful little area in the world.

  8. well, the louvre, definitely!

yeah, sure, catch the eifffel tower and champs elysee if you like, but the louvre is not to be missed.

there are so many great pantings and artwork in there that you spend hours ogling at...i am so jealous!

  9. *the louvre museum

*the eiffel tower of course (but it takes all day to visit and there are long lines)

    *notre-dame

*montmarte's square is great for shopping and getting a portrait drawn for you and Basilique du Sacre-Coeur is a beautiful church on the hill nearby

    *Arc de Triomphe

*a boat tour of the sine river is also very fun

  10. The Eiffel Tower!

  11. Eiffel tower, Louvre, Montmartre, Seine cruise. I am sure you can fit in all these, if you plan well.

  12. Paris has a huge number of sights and two days is very little time.

With all due respect to those who suggest museum visits, the fact is that it would take a month of visiting 24/7 to just see everything in the Louvre. Unless you're a major fan of great art I wonder if that's the best way to spend your limited time. Truth is, while the Louvre may be one of the greatest museums in the world there are great art museums in almost every big city.

So my first suggestion is to skip the Museums this time. You'll be back someday have the leisure time to truly appreciate the masterpieces in the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Centre Pompidou, Cluny Museum, Musee Rodin, etc etc etc. This time concentrate on the unique sights of the city and getting an appreciation of what makes Paris so special.

Check out Notre Dame and then see Saint Chapelle (a block away) that King Louis IX built to house the crown of thorns. See the Conciergerie (just around the corner) where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned by the revolution and walk past the Louvre and go to the Place de la Concorde where she and the King were guillotined. From there stoll thru the Tuilleries gardens and then up the Champs Elysee to the Arc de Triomphe. Then walk to the Trocadero and the Palais Chaillot where you can get a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower across the river. From there you can walk to the Tower and get a real siense of its size by just standing underneath it. No need to wait on line to go to the top. Its expensive and the view, while nice, isn't really the best view of Paris.

Take the RER to the St. Michel stop and you'll be back in the area of Notre Dame. Walk thru the Latin Quarter and find yourself a pleasant cafe to sit and relax with a drink and watch the world go by for a bit. ( A very parisian thing to do). Stroll around a bit more and look at menus in restaruant windows (they are required by law to post them) and find a place to eat a leisurely dinner. Then head out and sample some of the night life.

On your second day, head up to Montmartre and see Sacre Coeur. The view from the plaza in front is, in my opinion, the best elevated view of Paris (and its free). Walk around Montmartre a bit and then head down the hill to the Place Pigalle to catch a look at the Moulin Rouge (its now just a tawdry nightclub but the exterior is essentially the same.l.if you ignor the neon). Take the Metro down to the Centre Pompidou and check out the street performers. head over to the Forum des Halles if you feel like some shopping in the French equivalent of the Mall. Then go over to the old Jewish Quarter centered on the rue des Rosiers and have a fallafel at L'as du Fallafel or a sandwich at Joe Goldenberg's deli. From there go look at the Place des Vosges, the oldest public square in Paris and once the home of Victor Hugo. You can continue walking to the new Opera house in the Place Bastille. this is another good place to stop and have a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and people watch for a while before looking for a dinner spot and heading out for night time entertainment.
