Kansas, in the middle of the flat fields.  That way, eveyone will see your work.

Seriously, I suggest wherever you can find an internship.  You will need that time before becoming a registered architect.

Whatever the client wants.  The problem here is to start somewhere, but to do so, you need a client, assuming you are not already independently wealthy.  So, you don't start by deciding what to build.  You start by finding someone who wants a building built and convince him or her to allow you to present them with a concept.  If that concept is to their liking, you might have a start.  But remember, good architecture is not simply unique, pretty, good looking, etc.  Good architecture is functional first, and then it get's judged on its looks.

Someplace with a lot of earthquakes but where a lot of people can see it while it lasts, like LA or Tokyo.  That way your early stuff doesn't last a long time and you don't have to be  remembered for it.  So then, when you're famous and you are the best architect in the world people can't say "well what about his first building?  That wasn't  so great." because it will be rubble.  Only your best new stuff will remain.
