im going to ask this one last time

ok i want to build a pond for my to feeder goldfish first off should i have more than just 2 next how big should the pond be and what all do i need last off what do i do during the winter like if it snows really bad i know puting a tarp over it i know putting extra rock but will that work in alot of snow and i dont think a filter could work okay i live in ohio summers can reach almost in the 90s maybe a little higher in the winter it gets can get below zero

  1. punctuation is your friend.  My eyes practically crossed trying to read that.

    2 1/2 feet deep, minimum, if you need them to winter over.  No protection other than the depth needed.  5-6 feet across at least.  Goldfish can do a still-water pond.  You'll need "floaters" and "oxygenators" (pond plant types) to help keep a health balance, and at least part of the pond should be shaded to help keep algae blooms to a minimum.

    You can also buy pond de-icers, that run on electricity, to keep the surface clear of ice.

    I've had a small stillwater pond for 20 years in Ohio.  The fish (minnows) seem to propogate themselves, and I have small fry every spring - those the adults don't always winter over.  However - I don't have a de-icer, either.
