Here's my issue, the A300 is perfectly in my price range (£600), yet the A300D is also tempting me. For 100£ more i can have ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3650 with 512MB dedicated VRAM compared to the ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3470 with 256MB dedicated VRAM or Intel® GMA X3100 of the a300.

Also, are AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processors better than Technology

Intel® Centrino® Processor Technology featuring Intel® Core™2 Duo Processors

Thanks.. just making sure i dont buy something which isnt futureproof.

  1. That's not futureproof, because you can't futureproof with only £600. But I think we have different definitions of "future-proofing".

If you want that notebook to last 2-3 years, it will. But by the end of this year, it's not going to compete with the better models. Other than that, it'll last long enough for what you plan to do. I don't think you're going for super-performance. Probably some moderate gaming and work, which this(these) laptops will handle well.

I guess buy what you want? If you feel it's good for you, then it will be.
