  1. I don't think you will have many choices at 2 or 3 thousand.

  2. good luck volvo's are expensive..idt u could find any models that weren't wrecked for that price

  3. im no volvo fan but id do yourself a favor and buy a consumer reports book it will tell you all about the different cars, it will rate how much work it will need and good and bad things.

  4. A volvo with that year and at that price is going to be pretty hard to find.

I may be wrong though, maybe if you look around really well and ask around alot you may be able to find one.

  5. if the condition of the car is good condition, you may choose to accept it. Before you buy it, please consider the following

    a) Test drive

    b) Check the cc number of the car

    c) Service the car immediately to avoid any problem

    d) See the miles of travel of the car

    GOod luck

  6. buy a car that gets goo dmileage. its nissan, honda something like that. they are older models that you can buy for cheapand help with gas try itwill work and geenrally they run for 300,000 or more and no problems.

  7. don't do it.

Volvo's are safe but very mechanically unreliable.

they are expensive to own and repair.

if your not convinced here is a list of the ones to AVOID

    C70 01

    Cross Country 98 thru 01

    S40/50 nonturbo 05-06

    S40V40 turbo FWD 00-01 & 05

    S80 6 cyl 99 -00

    V70 01

    XC90 30 to 06

    for $4,000 look for

98 Acura CL, 98 Ford Mustang V6, 98 Honda Accord or Civic, 98 Nissan Frontier or Pathfinder, 98 Subaru Impreza or Legacy, 98 -00 Toyota Corolla or Echo 00

these are all reliable and will last longer than other cars in this price range.

  8. I guess you should also check insurance quotes for the car before buying one, for example here: http://autoinsurance.bebto.com

As I know Volvo is usually expensive to insure.

  9. Volvos are the safest cars ever made. All years are good.

  10. I'm glad you want a car older than a 2000 since in your price range you would be very limited in selection (maybe cars with nearly 200k miles).

Just remember that parts and repairs for an old Volvo are likely to be very expensive.

  11. I'm no Volvo expert, but I did look at my local Craigslist page and find more than a few that met those requirements. Some of them probably need work that the seller didn't admit to, so don't take this lightly. You should be able to find a decent one if you're careful, though.
