Im going to camden in southern arkansas and there are a lot of hornets there and i need to all about them?????

i dont even know what they look like and i dont want to stumble on them and not know what to do or if there is like something you can put on you to keep them off of you in case you get to close to there nest on accident

Do you know anything about wasps or bees.  Hornets are a close cousin to wasps.  The ones we have in Missouri are yellow and black but shaped more like bees.  I do not believe there is a repellent like there is for mosquito's, which they probably have in Camden as well. Unless you are allergic to bee stings I would worry more about the diseases carried by mosquito's then the hornets.
