  1. u will be safe in china,i can assure u

talking about the food,i suggest QuanJuDe Duck, here's the introduction:

Roast ducks to be served to Olympic athletes will go through an anti-doping test before being cooked and are "100 percent" safe, Quanjude, a leading restaurant famed for Peking Roast Duck, has said.

A manager of the century-old chain restaurant said the famed dish will go through three rounds of examinations, including the anti-doping test, before being served on dining tables in the Olympic Village.

The ducks are provided by a special breeding center designated by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), said the manager.

The cooked dish should meet the set physics and chemistry targets concerning protein, fat and mineral content, and will be tested for micro-organisms such as colon bacillus.

The roast ducks will finally be open to spot tests and examinations carried out by BOCOG, according to the manager.

Quanjude roast ducks are cooked over fire from fruit-wood. Its five overseas restaurants are in Japan, Australia and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

  2. If you worry about food, you can always eat at western resturants. Or go to McDonalds, KFC, or Pizza Hut... its the same (crappy) stuff you get in the US, or anywhere else for that matter.

Terrorism is not a big problem in China. There is some directed against the government from the people in the far western province (Xin Jiang) and they've threatened the olympic games. But I don't think your risk in China is any greater then anywere else, and much less than a lot of places in the world.

Don't worry about terrorism or the food. Just enjoy yourself.

  3. if you are from asia, there's no problem on foods, no terrorist in china, all you have to worry,  if your not a mandarin speaking person, is the language barrier, that will terrorize you for sure.

  5. china is not really a terrorist target. because they're communist, they haven't really taken a side, so you don't have to worry much. chinese food is suited for a wide range of tastes and almost everything will taste fine. just don't try foods that you feel uncomfortable with, like chicken feet, fried insects, or anything that looks strange. consulting a native chinese will definitely help.

  6. You as much risk from terrorist attacks as you would be in your home town. If your really worried when you come, then take a taxi to the places you want to visit the games will be an increase risk, if your going to use public transport.

As for food you can always find something you like western or Chinese you just have to know there to go.

  7. don't worry about terrorist they are a lesser problem in China than other parts of the world.

The food is good, when traveling in foreign countries it is a good idea to eat 2 pepto-bismol tablets with each meal. There is nothing wrong with the food, but your system is not used to it and taking the tablets will help keep you from having digestive problems.

    DON'T drink the water.

It is not safe even in big cities.

Drink bottled water that you buy in a store, even to brush your teeth.

When I first visited China a man told me not to drink the water, at restaurants drink tea.

  8. There's no terrorist in china, regarding food you can choose varieties of chinese cuisine as long as you brought with you your thousands of RMB$$$$ no problem. and if you can speak mandarin it would be much better but if you dont you might a problem communicating chinese people, only few can speak english.
