I'm going to be doing beauty therapy

which i took in year 10, and when i applied i really wanted to

but now that I'm nearing it, i don't wanna do it.

But my parents are really keen for me too and i don't wanna disappoint them.

So do i tell them bearing in mind i don't actually know what i wanna do, or do i just go along with it for a year?

  1. id say go with your flow, if your not gonna enjoy the subject, then by all means, dont do it. you wanna enjoy learning and in the end have a career that you enjoy being in.

dont worry if you keep changing your mind on what you want to do. i hear soo much stories of people saying how in the middle of college, they ended up switching career courses and have not regreted doing it.

i think your parents will like the decision, because they would want you to be happy with what your doing in life. following your dreams is never disappointing.

  2. If you're not sure which subject you're planning to pursue in college, I'd say just go with the flow.  Go along with the beauty therapy and see if you like it.  However, if you doesn't appeal to your fancy, you still have plenty of time throughout your year to explore other subjects and develop your interests.

There's such a thing as changing your course of study in college, you know ;)

    Good luck!

  3. it's your future and your life and you have to make your own choices as well so i say do what you want and what you feel you're comfortable with =]

  4. I'll assume the course haven't started yet but I'm not sure if you've enrolled (pay college deposit etc) or not

You should tell them before it's too late, if not finish what you've started... DON'T leave the course half-way through, your parents will remember that forever, and that'll come up whenever you have an argument with them (and trust me you don't want that).

  5. If youre hearts not in doing the subject then i think its only right you tell youre parents how you feel, and try and get on a course in something you actually are interested in and will enjoy, and something you want to actually do for a job in a few years.

college can be like school all over again but worse if youre not doing something you can enjoy.

  6. Change it, do what you want.

  7. It's still early enough to contact the college and change to another subject. Unless there's a special reason to do beauty therapy they'll probably not be disappointed as long as you're still going to college. If you just go along with it for a year, decide you don't like it then drop out, you'll have wasted a year.
