Im going to colorado for the first time. i can not decide to ride a snowboard or skii's?????

i can ride the ripstick and the ripstick is supposed to be kind of like a snowboard. It is my first time skiing.

I would suggest that you start out skiing, and If, when you are good enough at it, and you want to try snowboarding, go for it! Basically, here are the guidelines:

-Skiing is easier to learn but harder to master.

-Snowboarding is harder to learn but easier to master.

Depends on how much time you have there.

Skiing is faster and easier to pick up, but it gets harder to laern new stuff.

Snowboarding is harder to learn, but once you get the basics down, it gets easier from there.

I personally prefer snowboarding, you can just have so much more style and orginalty while snowboarding, while you are limited while on skis.

Try both if you are renting the equipment, if you are taking your own, you know what you are going to do.

If you're just going for one day and don't want to spend half of your time up there on your butt at the side of the run contemplating life you might want to ski.  They're easier to step onto and be able to make it down the mountain without falling.

Snowboarding takes a little longer to get the hang of and be half competent at.

If you're going for a few days you might find boarding more rewarding because once you can ride a bit it's easier to get better at it.  Where as skiing you can get up and riding easily but to advance from there takes a lot of time and practice.

That being said, rental shops at the mountain are generally pretty friendly and if you get a board and decide it's not for you they will usually swap out your gear for skis or vice versa.
