Im going to domincan republic with a few of my friends to a resort. What kind of drinks should we order?

im not too familiar with tropical drinks.

what are their names/ how powerful are they so we dont o.d lol

2. Santo Libre    = white rum/7up

3. Piña Colada  = Coconut/rum...

and some 20 more...

Drink but not much when the sun is high, you could get ill and have the " Revenge of the Greap's"

The best drink that you could have in the DR is Brugal this is the custom rum and President which is the custom beer.  They could be very powerful becacuse in my country there is no alchol level like here in the US.

BEING  THE  FAN  I  AM  OF  THE  "  SPIRITUAL  LIFE"  (  NO  RUM  I  MEAN  PUN  INTENTED )  AS WELL  AS  HAVING  OWNED  A  BAR  ON  A  DOMINICAN  BEACH  THAT  LASTED  AS  LONG  AS  THE  BEST  LOAD  YOU  EVER  TIED  ON  ,  I  CAN ATLEAST  TELL  YOU  THE  LOCAL   SIPS  AND  GUZZLES  AND  THE  TOURIST  FAVS  AS  WELL  .   IF  WE  ARE  ANYTHING  ALIKE,   PRESIDENTE  BEER  WILL  BE  THE  DRUG  OF  CHOICE  AND  IS  THE  ONLY  BEER  YOULL  FIND  IN  ALOT  OF  RESORTS  ON  THE  ISLAND.  RUM  IS  MORE  POPULAR  THAN  WATER  HERE. ( MAYBE  BECAUSE  ITS  SAFER  TO  DRINK.)  A  CUBA  LIBRE  WHICH  IS  RUM  AND  COKE  WITH  A LIME  OR  A  SANTA  LIBRE  WHICH  IS  RUM  AND   SPRITE   ARE   BOTH  LOCAL  AND  VISITOR  FAVS.   BUT  HANDS  DOWN ,  A COCO  LOCO OUT  OF  A  COCONUT   AND  THE  PINA  COLADA  OUT  OF  THE  PINEAPPLE  ARE  THE  WINNERS  ON  A  DOMINICAN  PIECE  OF  SAND .  BOTH  ARE  RUM  BASED  DRINKS  AND  ARE  THE  MOST    TROPICAL  AND  MOST  ORDERED .  THE  POWER    IS  IN  THE  POURING  AND  THE  ASKING !    SO  JUST  TELL  THE  BAR TENDER  OR  SERVER    '' FUERTE ( STRONG)  MUY  FUERTE ( VERY  STRONG)  OR  NO  FUERTE (  NOT  STRONG )........FOR  SOMETHING  UNIQELY  DOMINICAN  ,  ASK  FOR  A  SHOT  OF  MAMA  JUANA..   YOU  MIGHT   NOT  O. D  BUT  IF  YOUR   ERECTION  LASTS  MORE  THAN  4  HOURS  ., SEE  A  DOCTOR...     SALUD!

Any rum based drink, pinacoladas, banana mamas and dozens of others.  Ask your bartender not to use 151 rum, it's a killer, just too strong, 2 or 3 drinks and you'll be under the bar not sitting at it.  Presidente, the best beer in the DR is great, much stronger than American beer and similiar in strength  to Labatts Blue.

Just one word of caution... if you get the pina coladas, or any other milk-based drink - they use REAL coconut milk, which is a natural laxative!!!!  I did not realize this, and after about 2 to 3 days of drinking non-stop pina coladas I paid for it dearly.  Bring Imodium, Pepto Bismol, and what ever other stomach ailment medication you can, as it is hard to find there, and you don't want to ruin your vacation with stomach issues.  Also DO NOT drink the water - do not even brush your teeth with it... use bottled water - which they will supply much of.  

If you want to stay away from the milk-based drink you can try a Malibu Bay Breeze, which is rum, pineapple juice, and cranberry juice... very good.
