  1. Like all cities there are no go areas but you will generally be safe as the place is full of people but you never can be sure, take the usual precautions, stay together and keep tabs on anyone who wanders off, as in keep all your mobiles charged up and in credit! Have a look at entertainment.ie to see what knid of pubs/clubs/restaurants/tourist attractions you are looking for. Streets that have always had a "safety warning" include include sherriff street Gardener street, Summer Hill, these are all on the North side of the liffey, Stay out of the  Comb and James Street areas at night unless you are getting a taxi to a certain venue. If you stick to the Southside - in and around Grafton Street, Dawson Street, Wicklow Street, Exchequer Street and right up Georges Street and Camden Street & Wexford Street you will be ok, and find some great places all along the way. dont get me wrong, rows happen anywhere but for the most part you should be fine! Temple Bar area has everything a tourist wants in the line of fun and everything is within easy reach. Have a great weekend!

  2. stay away from that marlbrough street unless you wanna get robbed or raped by a junkie

    but the rest is safe

  3. Ballymun,Finglas,Tagglat,Crulim,Summerhi... and avoid the royal canal.Avoid streets with Flats which are 4-6 storey Rough dark red brick buildings.

  4. To OMG, . . .  .Im from Ballymun and yes we have problems, but I have lived here all of my life and NEVER had any trouble, I have walked home at 3.00am on rare occassions and have been totally fine, yes u need to be careful everywhere, not just in the areas you mention...The majority of people in Ballymun and similar places are honest, decent and law abiding people, So please dont tar us all with the one brush.

Anyone travelling to a large city just needs to use common sense when going out, be careful with money, always have ur phone topped up and fully charged, and just use ur head! You will be fine, honestly!
