  1. Both of the other people have it down, I ama former chef and worked in Singapore, but travelled to Thailand and Vietnam, and next to India, those are some of the few country's were a vegetarian diet is quite easy to follow, just which out for fish sauce and dried shrimp or shrimp paste if your totally not into any fish or meat, some dressings and sauce can have them, curries now are different, and most places have english menus and can help you with your choices, especially in Thailand, and Malaysia too.

  2. They have lots of stuff without meat in Asia. They eat a lot of soy, vegetables, and carbs like rice and noodles. Most Asian countries were vegetarian until very recently.

  3. Loads of info on the web:

Fruit, vegetables, spices, rice, noodles, tofu.

    .

  4. Most countries in that region have several vegetarian dishes - never fear! If you are worried about "accidentally" ordering something non-veg, don't... all you have to do is ask politely and most waiters/waitresses there speak English (though maybe haltingly and with a heavy accent), but they will bend over backwards to please you. They thrive on tourism, and want to make your experience pleasant so you will return again and again. So go, and stop worrying so much, and above all, have fun!!!! :)

  5. Check out the list of vegetarian or veg-friendly food stores and restaurants on VegDining.com.  Here's the link for Thailand:

Try Cafe Corner, it's great (and inexpensive, too)!

    Enjoy your trip!
