  1. I was doing exactly what you're describing 3 months ago.  I flew over to SanJose (another airport, not the international airport) on Nature Air or Sansa, both around $60 and it took only 25 minutes.  You didn't ask Interbus the right questions because they definitely do go from Quepos to San Jose.  You might need to link up with a local taxi at either end but it's easy to do and not to costly.  There are also a couple of other van service companies whose

names escapes me, but you can find them on any good travel site for Costa Rica.  Or better still, just ask at the desk of any good hotel how to arrange ground transport.  If your Spanish is good, ask any local taxi driver.

Oh yeah, almost forgot.  I had a copy of 'Lonely Planet' on Costa Rica while there, as did many other travelers, and they always list your transportation sources very clearly.  I'm surprised you don't already have one of those books.  Oh well, happy trails.

  2. There is a shuttle service from Manuel Antonio to SJO for $35. It leaves at 8:30am and takes about 4 hours.

you can compare the prices of flights and shuttles here. You also get an idea of the times they are available and which will be the most convenient for you.

  3. Being you have alot of luggage, yes taking the hop flights are probably not one of your options, unless your are lucky, no one else is traveling & they allow the extra luggage weight..which is generally limited to around 25lbs...backpak weight thats it huh? But you have many other options...one is you can call 'easyride' its a transport service that will take you to the airport...or you can contact various 'Turismo"...even try calling or going to a couple of lodging/accomodation places (Villa Rio Mar etc) & ask if they can assist...most of them DO have various transports...you can also contact the 'info center' in the area who have lots of contact info for you...You aren't stuck, thats for sure...We paid a cab to drive us to San Isidro from Dominical at 4am, it cost us $45 plus tip though...but since we had to go so early that was our best bet...Safe travels~ Take care~
