  1. When are you going cause right now a Hurricane just passed. It's Hurricane Fay.

  2. You will have a great time in PR!

If you are staying in San Juan, you can easily get around using taxi or even the public buses.  Tons of restaurants and clubs there.

Old San Juan is not far away- that place is fantastic for history, museums, art, clubs, restaurants and architecture.

To really see Puerto Rico, you need to get out of the city.  You could schedule tours, but they get pricey.  Cheapest way-  rent a car!

Then you can go to El Yunque and hike, play in waterfalls and just enjoy nature.

There are snorkel boat tours- both "booze cruise" types and private ones.

You MUST do the BioBay is the moon is right.  It is not cheap, but it might be a once in a lifetime experience.

A trip to on out-island like Culebra is great- a beautiful beach with snorkeling.

For local music/dance/food  etc- go to Guavate or Pinones on the weekend.

Loads more things to do and experience here- it really depends on what you like to do, your budget, and how long you have in PR.

  3. I visited that place several times and first of all, stay in Puerto Rico. You don't want to get robbed. Second, there are quite a few thing that go on there like where the cruise ships pull in, there is a rum factory there and you can tour the place. There are usually live bands there because of the tourism. There are a couple old forts that have a lot on interesting history. If you like swimming, there are a few places where you can swim along the beaches and there is surfing too. You may notice that a lot of the roads are brick instead of asphalt. It is illegal to pull up the bricks. Trust me. Night life is always alive. Plenty of dancing, drinking and fun. The beer Corona was originally made there and the Puerto Rican rum is the best.

  4. I just went last month and stayed in Isla Verde ( a section of PR). The Water and Beach hotel was a good place to stay because it doubles as an up-scale restaraunt and club on the rooftop. They have huge, cushioned lounge platforms to layout on and a pool with a great view of the ocean and sunset. It also has a great bar and sushi bar ontop as well.

If you do go, you want to take the bio-bay tour. Its a fun kayaking tour of the mangroves off the coast. When you make it to a certain spot in the mangroves, the water glows with millions of small microorganisms similar to fireflies. I would definitely checkout different tour providers because certain ones wont let you swim in it because it is so late at night and they just want you to see it and then go back really quickly.

For scuba diving, I would definitely hit up mona island.

  5. I enjoyed walking around and seeing all the beautiful architecture and scenery. Good luck and have fun.
