  1. Failing to plan is planning to fail !

  2. Depends on where you are going, what experience or skills you have and how long you are thinking of working there.

I would strongly suggest you need to be able to at least speak basic Spanish.

There are many foreigners who come out to Spain in the summer hoping to get a job that will allow them to stay for a while, so there will be a lot of competition for unskilled jobs.

Even though bars and restaurants struggle to get enough help during the high season, they won't always take on inexperienced workers, especially if they don't speak the language.

Be careful with the less acceptable offers you may receive and look after each other.  Not because Spain itself is dangerous (much less so than the UK, in my opinion), but because there are always people, in any country, looking to take advantage of those who are out of place and don't know much about their surroundings.

Good luck to you.  I hope you have a wonderful experience and that you enjoy Spain.  It is a truly beautiful country well worth getting to know.

    All the best

  3. You must have a work permit (which are hard to get,and takes forever)We have a huge unemployment problem here in Spain. To work in a bar,you have to speak fluent Spanish, and you still have to have the permit.

  4. im going to spain in 10 days to stay for the summer if i can get a job there. where in spain are you going?

  5. Get to spain, Go to City hall or Police station Get everything marked first. Then rent a hotel. Look around, But many people won't hire you off the spot.

  6. I used to live in spain and it would be beneficial to learn the language, you would have much more chance of finding work.

  7. It depends on where you are from.  If you are a citizen of the EU, then it should not be difficult to get a job (a legitimate one, that is).  You might need to get a NIE, as people before have mentioned.  You might also need to register yourself at the local social security office so that your empoyer can pay taxes on your behalf.  You should check with the Spanish Consulate in your region for the specifics.

If you are not an EU citizen, then forget about getting a legitimate job.  It took me 4 months to sort out the paperwork just to start (not to mention the job search itself).  Your best bet in that case is to go around looking for unofficial jobs once you get to where you are going.
