  1. It gets pretty cold in Madrid in February.  It snows there.  Not as much as, say, New York, but it does.  It also melts off fairly quickly.  I was there in April and got snowed on.

Barca might be a bit cold and damp.  Someone else can give you a better answer on this.

In Seville, we were sunbathing on the roof in late Feb.  though it does get pretty cold, there, as well.

the guys are really hot, if you like 'em short and thin.  They are dark and dramatic, especially in the south.  (I'm kinda tall, and had a hard time even finding someone taller to dance with - we spent a lot of time in discos)   They also think that any female they meet on a tour is going to want to hop into bed, so you have to draw that line pretty firmly.

You probably won't have all that much contact with them, though, because when you are on that kind of tour, you spend so much time doing the tour things with your group....but you will get to look at them!

(I didn't go on the tour with my HS class - but they had a BLAST!!!  I went a bit more independently, for a year, with a University exchange.  I suggest you consider doing THAT, as well - what you are doing is little more than an appetizer for the real thing...you'll have SOOOO much fun!  But if you can go live, you get an entirely different perspective on the whole situation!  Plus you learn SOOOOOO much more!)

  2. I lived in Madrid since August of last year and two months ago moved to Valencia which is about 3 hours south of Barcelona.

I visited Barcelona in February of last year.  It was very cold.  It was below freezing at night.  The days were clear and sunny, but still around 10 -12 degrees celcius.

Madrid is very cold too.  I didn't see any snow last year.  Below freezing at night and 5-10 degrees c during the day.

You will need warm winter clothes and an umbrella.  Flat knee high boots are especially good because they keep you warm and dry and it easy to walk on the cobbled and slippery streets.

Spain is home now so I love it here.  I haven't seen many hot spanish men though.

  3. I went to Spain this past Feb., it really wasn't bad at all, Madrid was warm, so was Galicia (Northern Spain), and Barcelona is usually warmer than Madrid, I was told to pack warm clothing, and ended up wearing jeans in 70 degree weather, so pack a good mixture of clothing, because the weather can be cold, you really can't be sure. About the hotels, it depends where you stay, I'm sure there are plenty of fleabag hotels, but I've been to some great hotels in Madrid.
