  1. These are good. http://us.dk.com/nf/Search/QuickSearchPr...

From San Francisco I think 11 hours. (It's about 6 from New York)

  2. Here's a tour link with some stuff in Spain to do..

Just a tour a friend is going on.. thought this would help!

  3. Barcelona is fabulous. Lonely Planet guides are very good

  4. The mar menor in Spain is great.

  5. Okay, Awesome books:  DK Eyewitness Spain...best guide book I ever saw.  It made me want to see tons of things I will never have time for.

Places to knock your socks off:  near Barcelona, if you are interested in impressionist and later art, the Picasso Museum (honestly, I haven't been there in about thirty years, and it has changed a great deal since then, but I hear it's incredible!) the Dalí house and museum in Figueres, and I understand that Cadaqués, where all the impressionists spent lots of time, also pretty nice.

If you are interested in history, get to Granada, and see the Alhambra.  Widely agreed that this is one of the most spectacular monuments in the world.

Segovia, and Toledo also pretty spectacular, and Avila, if you're into religious history, or want to see one of the most complete medieval walls in the world.

I wouldn´t miss Seville, but that's partly cause I have a special attachment...still, the Cathedral and Giralda, and Alcázar, there, not to be missed.
