  1. You're very lucky.  Geneva is a beautiful city and there's plenty to see and do there.

The flower clock and the water fountain (jet d'eau) are the staples of the city so you have to see those.

Take an audio-guided tour of the old town (vieille ville).

You can board a cruise ship in Geneva for a great day cruise that can take you all the way to Montreux.  It's a fun and relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

You will find the Reformation Wall at the parc des bastions.  The Grand Theatre (the opera house) is located just next to it at the Place Neuve. The opera house is usually on a summer hiatus so you should check and see if other local theaters offer performances or if there are any outdoor performances.

Visit the United Nations building.  It's really interesting.

You can go to the countryside and do a wine tasting at local wineries.  Most of them are free and the tastings are held on Saturday mornings or all day.

There's also some fun markets to go to.  The flea market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Plaine de Plainpalais.  There are quite a few treasures to be found there.

You don't tell us when you will be there.  August 1st is National Day in Switzerland.  Everything is closed and folks gather at night with paper lanterns etc. August 2-12 the city celebrates the Geneva Festival (fetes de Geneve) with with parades, concerts, a fair and the most amazing display of fireworks you'll ever see.

    Have a wonderful time!

  2. I'm swiss. Here are some suggestions.

Go to some museums, see the city, enjoy the lake or go shopping. There are lots of things to do and see in Geneva. Hopefully the weather will be nice. Enjoy your time and have lots of fun!

  3. Geneva spends almost 20% of its entire budget on culture, there are lots of museums that you can visit, including the Patek Phillipe museum, the Musee de l'horlogie and the Reformation Museum. Le Grand Théâtre has Mozart, Strauss, Wagner and Monteverdi operas playing. The address is 11, boulevard du Théâtre.

You could also just walk around the city and take in the atmosphere, then go to France for a day. The TGV goes from Geneva to Lyon in about 1 & a half hours. Avenue du President Kennedy is famous for its chocolate shops, and Lyon has a reputation as the gastronomic capital of France. It also has a great history.

You could also take a train from Geneva to Lausanne, which will follow the Lake Geneva, giving you a great view of the lake and its environs. At Lausanne, check out the cathedral and just walk around. Its about 45 minutes on train to get there.

Get yourself a travel book too!

    Enjoy
