I plan to stay there about two weeks. I like to visit museums, aquariums, planetariums, any interesting sight-seeing activities, I love the arts and culture, architecture, anything that's interesting, fun and romantic. My friends suggested Madrid and Barcelona, but I might just be able to visit one. But which one?

  1. You can definitely do Madrid and Barcelona in two weeks, both are well worth your time. If you are keen on art, the Prado museum in Madrid would be a must, as also the Thyssen art museum, and the Reina Sofía museum of modern art. There is a planetarium, and an excellent zoo with aquarium. Then you have fantastic palaces El Palacio de Oriente for ex. (the Royal Palace), the Palacio in Aranjuez, El Escorial,  and many others. There are magnificent fountains such as La Cibeles, and many monuments (for ex. the monument to Colon).

If you decide to share time and go on to Barcelona, enjoy Gaudis architecture, parque Güell, etc. Barcelona is also a magnificent and very cultural city. Whatever your choice, you will definitely be kept busy...but take time to just wander about the city hand in hand, and enjoy your honeymoon!

I wish you luck and happiness.

  2. Barcelona has everything you would want to see plus the Ocean,, ( I know its gonna be february but its always nice to see the ocean) Madrid is great but you can always visit that on your next trip to Spain..( he he)

    Take care.

    Bcn_mimosa from Barcelona...

  3. Barcelona without a doubt. Beautiful sights, romantic, fun, lot's of shopping to do, Spanish but still more European than Madrid...Don't miss Tibidabo at night, beautiful view from chic clubs in a mountain over the city. Very good train and tube connections.

  4. Barcelona, because has a lot of history, restaurants, nihtclubs, and is more cosmopolitan than Madrid, and is on the coast!!!

  5. You should definely go to Cordoba and to Granada. And since youll be close go to Sevilla, and to chill on the beach in Malaga.  Have fun and congratulations.

  6. Congratulations!

Two weeks is more than enough time to explore Barcelona and Seville, with lots of day trips and maybe some other places too. Check out www.vueling.com for super-cheap airfares between these cities.  Oh they also have hotels pretty cheap too.

Allow at least 4 days/3 nights in each city and use extra days for day trips and enjoying your honeymoon.   And you have plenty of time to visit other cities too (I recommend Ronda!).

Madrid is OK but we didn't want to stay for more than two nights.  If you want to visit, you can take a train from Seville and be there in less than 2 hours.  From Barcelona there are beach towns you can go to like Stiges, and from Seville you can easily visit Cordoba.  Have fun!

Oh and you should have weather in the 60s/70s.

  7. Barcelona

  8. I'm from Barcelona, but I also love Madrid. You should see both. They're quite different.

But for me the most beautiful cities in Spain are Sevilla and San Sebastian (one in the south and the other in the north).

  9. 2 wks is plenty of time to do both madrid & barcelona.  take the train & it's very easy.  then you can do day trips or wander around the city.  they are both "big" cities, but there are smaller  towns & even small villages so you can choose your atmosphere.  you will find the smaller towns more romantic, i think.

spain has paradors which are beautiful old palaces converted into hotels & they are great!!  there are special tourist packages that include a rental car & hotels or just the hotels  so look into that also.

  10. Savilla the capital of beautiful Andalucia, a great historical city and the other plus point it can be warm and sunny even in February!. Which ever you choose, both have a once in a life time fantastico Honeymoon here in Spain.
