Question:

Im going to visit relatives in florida,im having a ton of trouble getting certain documents ~~~~~,?

in order to get on the plane,i have my birth certificate anda few other things ie social security card,medical insurance card,why is it manditory for a passport if one is traveling in the united states?? im finding it very tough to get aphoto id card.! its been one detour after another,why is it so rough????

The ONLY thing you need to travel WITHIN the United States is a gov't issued photo I.D.  If you do not have a drivers license, you can get a state I.d. card at the DMV office.  You just need your birth certificate to go get that.  Should NOT be difficult.  You need a photo I.D. for many things, like cashing a check, so it is to your advantage to get one. Also, if you do not have time to get one before you fly, airlines accept alternative forms of I.D.  See site below to see what United accepts. You can CALL your airline and ASK what they will accept.  You do NOT need a passport to travel within the U.S.
