  1. Yes, visas are country-specific.  You'll need to either contact Embassies and arrange it yourself, or travel agents can help you out.

  2. talk to your bank and get travelers checks

  3. An Australian visitor visa allows you travel in Australia for up to 12 months, if you want, you can apply for an electronic (ETA) visa for Australia online. Here's a link for that http://www.nationalvisas.com.au/visitor/...

It's faster and easier, but with this visa you're not entitled to work in Australia. What you'll need is a working holiday visa. It's the same with a visitor visa, up to 12 months visit but with this you'll have the option of part-time or casual employment.

You can check out the requirements of a working holiday visa here http://www.nationalvisas.com.au/working/...

Good luck and happy trip! :)

  4. Visa requirements vary by nationality, so you should check with a consulate/embassy for each country.  You can usually get more details from each country's immigration, state, or travel department website.

You can apply for visas at most embassies and some consulates.  Alternatively, you can hire a visa agent to file the applications for you.  In some cases, you may be able to apply for a visa online depending again on your elligibility.

Be aware that to work in a foreign country, you will most likely need a special work visa as most tourist and student visas explicitly prohibit employment.
