It doesn't hurt too much. I have had them three times :).

They may feel a little bit sore at some points, especially when they are tightened, but Tylenol should take care of that.

Don't worry too much, you get to pick the colors every month of your bands too :]

what i did when i had braces was i ate advil then ice cream it numbed my gums and the advil help last the numbing last longer...its not the numbing where it spreads to the lips its the numbing for your gums

you have to be careful when eating...too

the glue may not be fully concealed to your teeth yet til another coulpe of weeks

no they dont really "hurt", they are more annoying than anything else. Plus be careful at first, getting used to eating with them in can take a little while

Putting on braeces is actually quite ok. The only psychological pain is the extraction of 4 of your tooth. After putting braeces, your teeth will become VERY weak so you'll probably have to abstain from tough meat like beef for about 1 week.

From my personal experience, I had porridge for about 1 week+ and drinking water was a challenge for me as the gush of water into my mouth sometimes make my teeth feel painful.

The changing of wire each time you go to your orthodonist for a check up would result in the weakening for your teeth as the new wires are pulling your teeth stronger than ever into the desired position. However, this pain usually last about 1-2 days.

But do remember that the pain you suffer now will be returned to you manifold in terms of aesthetic beauty. Your teeth will look perfect and straight. I've never regretted putting on braces even though I had to wear them for 4 years + (longer than the standard 2 years). Do not think too much of it and look forward to the beauty of your teeth in the future

One thing to note: watch your oral hygience because braces make brushing exceptionally difficult in certain places which make make your gums swollen if not brushed properly

Life after braces will be relatively easy but not that easy because you would have to wear retainers. These retainers hold your teeth in the new position after the post-braces age. Your retainers are something like a saliva producing equipment when you wear them but you'll get used to it in a few days and your mouth will not produce much saliva after that. Wearing your retainers would require the same amt of time you wore your braces (i.e wear braces for 3 yrs --> wear retainers for 3 yrs).
