  1. Check out this site:

This was the basic guideline that I used to go by when I was feeding my 10 baby cockatiels.  It's very informative.  Good luck.

  2. I syringe fed my bird too.

It was a long time ago.

I think i done it about three-four times a day.

    About 7.30am,12.30am,5.30pm.

Hope i helped a little bit.

    xo

  3. I have to say that initially on seeing the 'headline' to your question I thought "My Goodness..How irresponsible is that?! As, if you were going to hand rear a baby bird, its only common sense that you should know exactly what you are doing before you even start.

    However

NOW I have to say, "Congratulations on what you have already done for this little girl!! You sound like you are really trying with her, and you will have a fabulous bond with her if she survives! I'm jealous haha!!"

Have you any bird breeders around where you live? I can give you the phone number of the Parrot Society which is 01442 872245 their website is http://www.theparrotsocietyuk.org/ and they tend to cater more for breeders rather than pet parrots (cockatiels are part of the parrot family) and Les Rance who runs it is more often helpful than not, and will probably be able to advise you, or give you the number of someone else who can. Their website has many pages and is very informative too.

You can tell when the bird has had enough by the full crop, but if you are doing it often, then overfilling the crop is unnecessary and the bird will let you know its had enough... It will probably play up..like they do when they are older..little darlings aren't they>?
