Everyone has to wear sarongs, men as well as women.

Food is hot and spicy, lots of mango/coconut etc. Chuck a bit of voodoo in for good measure. Male Witch doctor. Female like the one off of The Pirates of the Caribbean with dreadlocks. Have a few pretend snakes hanging around and a wax dummy with pins in it lol!

How about American.  Always in fashion and red, white and blue colors come in alot of decorations and can be incorporated into food by using food coloring.

Olympics - coloured rings use hula hoops, food's and drinks from around the world, party games like mini Olympics, Cocktail sticks made into little flags from around the world.

Music Festival - Gazebo with a banner saying beer tent, make shift stage made out of pallets, cups labeled 'your name' festival 2008, stacks of toilet rolls and signs pointing to porter loo's which would be your bathroom. Banners and flags even blow up sheep which I've seen before at a festival. Pitch up a tent. Play festival music.

A barbeque screams western or at least country.

Red and white checkered tablecloths, straw hats turned upside down with flowers in them for table decorations. Hang ropes and spurs and saddles from walls and trees.  Lighting can be fruit jars with baling wire wrapped around the top hanging from tree branches, etc with candles in them. Red bandanas can be napkins or tie around the hats.  If you have access to bales of hay, they make good seating. If you have a fence, hang some quilts on them. I would think that most of this can be borrowed.  Have fun!!
