  3. One idea is the dirt and worm dessert.  You take chocolate pudding, crushed up oreo cookies and gummy worms.  chocolate pudding on the bottom with crushed oreo cookies on top (the dirt) with a worm half sticking out on top.

  4. Pail of Sand Cake

1 baked 8-inch round cake (any flavor desired)

    1 new plastic beach pail

1 small box vanilla pudding (prepared)

    1 cup crushed graham crackers

    Shell-shaped candies

    Candy rocks

    Paper umbrellas

Plastic shovel (usually comes with pail)

Cut the cake into 1-inch slices. Fit the slices into the pail, alternating layers of cake with pudding and ending with pudding. Sprinkle the crushed cookie sand on top. Decorate with candies, umbrellas, etc. Use the plastic shovel as a serving "spoon."

    Aquarium Gelatin

1 small box blue or green gelatin

    1 cup boiling water

    1 cup cold water

    24 gummy fish

    1 cup whipped cream

    Fish crackers (optional)

Make gelatin according to package directions. When it's slightly cooled, divide it among six plastic cups.

When gelatin is partially set, add three or more gummy fish to each cup. Place cups in refrigerator for 2 hours, or until gelatin is firm.

At serving time, top with whipped cream to form "surf." Serve with fish crackers, if desired

  6. Dirt Pudding - I usually serve it in a clear glass bowl, like trifle dish but have heard about it being served in clean ceramic plant pots with plastic flowers sticking out to make it look real.

    Ingredients:

1 lg. pkg. Oreo cookies - put in large ziploc bag and crumble up

    1 lg. container Cool Whip

1 (8 oz.) pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese, softened

    1 c. powdered icing sugar

2 (4-serving) pkgs. instant chocolate pudding

    3 c. milk

10-18 gummy worms - depends on how much the kids like ‘em

    Preparation:

Layer 1/3 crumbled cookies in 8-9” container approximately 5” deep.

Mix together Cool Whip, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth & creamy.

In large bowl, mix together pudding and milk.  Combine cream cheese mixture with pudding mixture; mix well.

Pour 1/2 of pudding mixture over cookies in container and put in 4-5 gummy worms; layer 1/3 more crumbled cookies, then the remaining pudding mixture.  Push the remaining gummy worms in the pudding, having some stick out for gross-out effect.  Spread remaining cookie stuff on top.   Cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least one hour.

Last time I made this for a block party, one of the Dads practically ate the whole thing.
