maybe u should have the invitations maybe like greek jewlery necklaces for the girls and watches for the boys, make sure the jewlery iz from greek

and the decorations should be like have greek words like spary paintin a wall u should do that in greek language u should have a vip section for ur best friends and a clicks section who want 2 invite to ur party like gothes jocks cheerlearders journalists soccor scientist clubb stuff like dat where are u having ur party at anyway???

oh this is fun!

invites: cd with the celebrant on the front cover wearing either a poodle skirt or that hot black outfit that 'Sandy' wore in the end / inside maybe copy of the movie / inserts with pics of your daughter growing up

color: pink/white/black

cake:  old record player or drive-in movie theatre with your daughter on the big screen (this can be done)

decor: think diner

Anything '50's!   (Watch some old episodes of "Happy Days") ....  Make a round layer cake (or use an Angel Food Cake pan) and cover with dark chocolate frosting;  decorate like a stack of old 45's.  If you have satellite tv, there are free non-stop music channels;  on Direct TV, there's a 50's channel (and a 60's channel) somewhere after 800 ....  Hamburgers, french fries, milkshakes & floats;  brownies & chocolate chip cookies.  If you wanted to make a jello mold too, that'd be perfect (ALL special dinners included a jello mold in the 50's) ..... Girls:  poodle skirts and white blouses, or rolled up blue jeans and a big white man's shirt with bobby sox & saddle shoes;  hair in a ponytail with a little scarf tied around it.  Boys:  Jeans with a cuff and a tee shirt with the arms rolled up (to hold a pack of cigarettes) - for the "bad" boys:)  Or, cords/khakis and a plaid sport shirt, or long-sleeved shirt with a sweater vest .....  Go to a thrift store and get some old album covers to use as decorations; and maybe you can find some movie posters or photographs (Elvis, James Dean, etc.)  ......  If you can find any old episodes of "American Bandstand" to watch, those might give you more ideas too:) .....There's a website for The Candy Store, which carries old candies, and they're categorized by decade.  You could either order them, or see what was popular from the list and find some near you..... Have fun!

Want to make great decorations for cheap. Here is what we did.  Go to a store that sells large appliances and ask for the cardboard.  Cut 3 or 4 into 56 high x36 wide.  Spray paint black and dry.  buy Grease posters standard poster size or a bit bigger to center on these boards.  Buy double side craft tape.  It is really thin tape and not foam.  Put it around the edge of the poster and center on the cardboard.  Buy some star cutouts like this, some large, some medium or small to put a couple around the poster to accent the picture.  We got the silver foil ones.  Stick these on the with same tape:http://www.partycheap.com/Solid_Color_Fo...

All you have to do is crease this in the center vertically and it will stand on its own.  They look so cool!

Make balloon arrangements with pink and black latex balloons and one of the above balloons.  These will be helium filled attached to curling ribbon and attached to foil balloon weight.  Make a bunch of these.  Put one of these groups on each table, put 1 of these groups on each side of the cake table and DJ table and entrance to the party (adjust the strings shorter for othe ones on the tables and also around the dance floor.
