  1. Having already got many teeth pulled and again getting the rest removed indicates you have serious periodontal problem. You have a long way to go from your current age 25. In order that you don't have further bone loss get the grafting done right now. Once you have the extraction sites healed up, your best long term option would be implants retained dentures, if you can afford all the expenses. Other than that you may have to compromise with have removable complete dentures. Or google search for Affordable Comfortable Dentures and discuss your options.

  2. if u are in pain with them then getting them out will be a relief then you will feel much better once it begins to heal.  Are you having false teeth made.  Don't worry about it sure it will be fine.

    Peace

  3. Hey there.

First, let me tell you that it will be OK.

I know you're probably extremly nervous and fearing the worst.

I can relate - I just had 13 teeth removed, myself.

I was not completely sedated though, they only used Nitrous and Novicane.

It sounds like the process for you should be easy, since you'll be sleeping through the entire thing.

The hardest part will be the healing afterward.

Make sure that you take it easy for at least 4-5 days after your oral surgery (and yes, they do consider this oral surgery).

You'll be bleeding for about half of the first day and then oozing blood for at least 18 hours after the extractions.

If your doctor gives you pain meds and antibiotics make sure you take them.  Make sure you take the pain meds as soon as you get home (you might want to pick them up the day before your surgery so you have them ready).  For the first couple of days, make sure you take them every 4 hours.  You want to stay "ahead of the pain" so that you aren't hurting, rather than wait around until you start hurting and then trying to play catch up.  Also, for the first couple of days, you might want to take some ibuprofen to help with the swelling.

After 24 hours you can start rinsing with warm salt water.

Do not drink through a straw, rinse with anything (other than the warm salt water), suck on anything, smoke, or spit for the first 72 hours.  This will help you avoid dry sockets.

You can eat puddings, ice cream, yougurt, cream of wheat, carnation instant breakfast, slim fasts (they are pretty high in vitamins, etc.), creamy soups (that don't have many solids in them - like cream of mushroom or cream of brocoli) and drink just about anything - except for Carbinated Beverages.  You will want to wait 72 hours on them as well.

Your doctor will tell you when to come back in for a follow up.

I went back in a week later.

I was still sore, but I was healing just fine.

Now it's been almost 2 weeks and I feel SO MUCH better.

My worst problem now is a healing canker sore (which they even gave me a script for - so if you get some of those, which you might, make sure you ask for some relief for it when you go back for your follow up).

So, take it easy, relax, and just remember - it is a big adjustment, I know.  You'll feel like it's a loss for a while.  BUT, you are going to be so much healthier and feel so much better.  So this little bit of sadness, worry, and uncomfortableness will deff be worth it in the long run.   I keep telling myself that every day.   I'm 29, so we're not to far apart in age :)

    Good Luck!
