Im having problums with my 98 corsa b,

Question

its a 3 cylinder and my rev counter drops lower than normal when i put in the clutch to come to a stop and it almost dies. i tool it to get fixd but the mecanic said it could be the EGR valve or idle speed control valve, i dont want to go and get both of them replaced when one dosnt need fixd,does the EGR valve need cleaned or replaced i heard alot of people has problums with these typs of cars. the car only has 33,000 miles on it. i didnt fink i would have as much problums with them as they come with.

Yeh its an expensive job based on your cars value try another garage to see if they can shed any light - based on my own experience in the long run its better to pay up rather than trying to fix it yourself, if youre unsure about it.

Check for a vacuum hose leak in the engine compartment and fix it.
