I'm schooling at home and i can never find the time to sit down and do some work.

I always end up having lots of work to do on fridays, and do practicly nothing on the others.

I guess i'm looking for tips to make my work fun/easy/fast.

thanks and happy new year!

  1. At the start of the week, break all your work up into equal amounts, for example so many pages of your reading each day to get it all done by the end of the week.  Then write out a list for each day, showing what you must do that day.  Force yourself to stick to the schedule.

Your parents should be able to help you figure out your schedule if you get stuck.

  2. Make a study schedule for every day.  Only work on one subject for no more than one hour before you take a break.  That way, you will study on a steady basis and won't get burned out on Friday.

  3. I was homeschooled for all my life until this year when I went to a high school. I always found it helpful to draw up some sort of schedule and follow that. yeah, it's hard trying to concentrate at times! but I promise that if you make a schedule and try to stick to it you'll get much more done! good luck!

  4. um if u havent tried it mabie u can try music, something with out lyrics mabie, but it all depends on the type of person you are also take a little snack break in between... it seems to help me =]

oh yeah and what sandwest said make a schedule to help you organize what you are going to do. and spread out the work so you wont be so stressed out and have to do it all at once on friday.

  5. When I have trouble focusing on the things I do not like to do, I write them (1 each) on slips of paper.

Then  I randomly pick one and finish it.

I allow myself freetime to do the things I enjoy in between.

Then I randomly choose another and complete it.

    Then freetime.

    ETC.

Before you know it, you have completed all of your boring schoolwork.

This worked for my kids (who now excel in college), also.

  6. "I can never find the time to sit down and do some work."

Then track what you actually spend your time on. Do it for a week. Then total the number of hours you spend on playing on the computer (this includes chatting), sleeping, getting ready, meals, etc. Figure out what you are spending your time on.

If that's really just an excuse, then it's just a matter of making yourself do your work. Since it sounds like you know what you have to get done during the week, each morning, sit down and write out what you are to get done that day. Then do it. You just have to make yourself do it. Write yourself some rules ("NO free time until 2pm." "Breaks are limited to 15 minutes.") and/or a schedule in BIG letters/numbers and do it. It'll be hard, especially the first few days, but each time you succeed, you'll feel better and better about yourself, about having done what you said you'd do, and you'll feel more capable of sticking to your schedule.

  7. Make a time table according to the subjects from tough to easiest....be sure to follow it.try being in a room where there is less noise and ask ur parents to not to give you your friends phone call when u have sat to study.eat healthy drink loads of water and have a 5 mins break wen u feel tierd studyin but dont go and sit in front of the tv again sayin its your break instead go out and take some fresh air and again sit and study.

you can think about everything else later. 1 hour of studies with full concentration is all you will need!!

  8. This sounds so much like my probems that I can only tell you what works for me.  If it's things that distract you like the computer...(like it is for me right now!) it might be helpful if you live withought your distraction even being near you so that you have to think about what your doing.  For me, when I'm working, I like the music, keeps me stoked through the work, things that make it fast depends on how quick your subject is.  and studying the same ammount every day will help you get a feel of the subject and it'll make it faster.
