Question:

Im heavier then Ive ever been and I feel super fat, but my BMI says I shouldnt lose weight?!?

Im 5'4.5" and 111lbs and I feel ridiculiously fat.

My BMI is 18.76.

The BMI calculator says I shouldnt lose any weight, but Im determined to lose 20lbs.

I dont have an eating disorder, but everyone I know seems so much smaller then I am!

Do you think I'll be fine if I lose the weight?

Im going to lose atleast 10lbs no matter what, I know that for sure.

Soo, do you think the BMI thing could be wrong or something?

Cause Im really not that thin!

  1. if your thirteen, 5'4, and 111 pounds you should stay at where you are. if anything gain weight. chances are your going to grow taller. and you will gain weight. but only due to your height. it doesnt mean your overweight if the scale says something like 123 and your 5'6. it is even if your 4'8 111 is skinny. dont worry about your weight. your perfectly skinny.


  2. how is that fat. i am 12 and im more than that. but i have a lot and i mean a lot of muscles so thats why though.

  3. dont worry you will grow into your hips. i had them at 14 and the rest of my body was ridiculously skinny so i looked so strange. wear boot cut or flare jeans that balance out your hips ( stay away from skinny jeans) and accentuate your waist and your curves. they are great, trust me when you get older you will love it.

  4. well, a BMI doesn't take into account body fat/muscle proportions, so it's not really that accurate,

    However a BMI below 18 is classed as underweight, so i wouldn't try and loose anymore weight, besides curves are sexier than bones popping out all over the place! Ask any guy and they'd prefer curves to nothing.

    Also as your only 13, you still have time to develop, i was the same as you when i was your age, and as i got older the weight fell off me.

    If your really that concerned about your weight issues, try joining a junior gym or doing more exercise to tone up.

    When i was a teen i hated my body, since then i have learned to love and embrace my curves!

    curves!? OMG, ALOT OF PEOPLE REALLY WANT CURVES!!! AND CURVES ARE TOTALLY NORMAL, AT LEAST YOUR NOT THIN AND LANKY, like me :( and i hate it, it makes me look ugly, you should be thankful lol.

    i have a big belly with skinny arms, ROFL i'm ugly and fat and have a weird shape. i bet your pretty. it's feminine and natural, don't turn anorexic, because your fine the way you are, and I bet most guys like that, and if they don't because of that, they don't truely love you anyways, you'll find your soulmate so it doesn't matter. they'll love you for YOU, don't let ANYONE put you down and call you fat, because a flat stomach is like REALLY skinny.

You're at an age when some girls are starting to turn into "women" and some are still very much "girls".  Women have curves, it's that simple and you should be proud of what you have and not embarrassed by it.  You can look good in jeans, you just need to buy jeans that flatter your body type, trust me there is a pair out there for EVERYONE!!  No, the BMI is pretty accurate, in fact you are on the edge of being underweight.

  7. you will grow into your body.. just don't go on a serious diet or it may stunt your growth and cause health problems, most people have the same problem and 111 is great compared to my 130 at 13 and i wasn't fat
