Im in college, can i still go to the navy?

Question

ok im a freshmen in college, would i be able to join the navy? could i finish school and do it? or could i just drop out of college, join the navy and take college classes there? what else can i do

Short answer, Yes, you would be able to join the Navy.

You could finish school first, if you'd like. If you would rather go now and get some help with college, then do that. It's really up to you. If you join the Navy now and quit school for a spell, you could start doing college courses again in as little as a few months after basic training. The Navy college office offers many alternatives to traditional classes such as CLEP tests (you take the test and you get the credit for the course) and local colleges offer courses to Active Duty through the Navy college office at no charge.

It really comes down to what you want out of your career and college experience. If you weren't going to get into the whole frat/sorority scene or you don't care about the "college experience" then go Navy. If you are going to regret missing out on that stuff, go do it! Have fun in college and join the Navy when you're ready. The Navy is the second oldest military branch (Army is older by 4 months) and is the only branch protected by the Constitution. It's not going anywhere!

Definitely finish school.  The Navy is possibly the best branch to join career wise.  The first thing you should do is check to see if your school has an NROTC program.  You can get school paid for while earning a commission.  If your school doesn't have NROTC, there are still several ways to become an officer.  There's the Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program and if all else fails, you can go to Officer Candidate School after you get your degree.

the navy is a great thing to get into. the jobs going there are amazing. you can be an engineer a computer whiz. the oppertunitys are are unbelievable.
