  1. First off..You do not NEED a phone in middle school. You want a phone in middle school. There is a difference. And if your dad lets you have one for only 5 dollars a month.. that's dirt cheap. Ask him if you can earn the money by cleaning house, doing dishes, doing laundry, doing lawn care, including raking leaves, shoveling snow.. what have you. Show that you want to be responsible and do the things you agreed upon.. and do them right! Sit down with your dad and discuss it.

  2. :] maybe get a job! Like babysitting, or dog or cat sitting while people are away :] Thats what i do and im in Junior High too [:  Or if you do chores, do u think your dad will give u allowancee?? :]  For your bday or christmas, if you get money, save it up instead of spending it :]  I hope that helpss girl!! Have a fantastic day :]

p.s. I wish i could get a phone my dad says -i dont need one- eh i guess its true. loll

  3. That sounds fair, having you pay for part of the privilege of having the phone.

You can do chores around the house for money, you can collect and return bottles and cans.  You can do things for your neighbors like walk their dogs.  Remember, even doing something for .50¢ moves you towards that $5 goal.  Good luck!

  4. You could hand out fliers around your neighborhood for a babysitting job or lawn service..  Fall is slowly approching and people are going to want willing people to mow their lawn to prepare them for the long winter ahead.  Everyone needs a good night out someime.. you can baby sit some persons kid for a night.

If you are not interested in that, you can always dog walk for money... or even a lemonade stand.. I'm sure that if your parents see that you are putting an effort into getting money to pay them for a cell phone, they will let you have one.. =]

I hope this helped.. GOOD LUCK!  ;D

  5. You're in Middle School and you NEED a phone?  I don't think so.

Your dad is offering to give you the use of one for $5.00/month?  That doesn't even begin to cover the emergency access and text messaging that you will likely do.

    Like father - like daughter!

  6. Please look into dog walking. So many people worrie all day because  the baby can't go out to potty. You can get a key from the dog's mom or dad. Commit your self to walking at least 30 min's, Take a plastic bag to pick p**p up.

  7. oh just forget it.

it'll just be a distraction from your schoolwork sending text messages and such.

  8. Lanie, your dad is trying to teach you responsibility and that things are not free that you have to earn certain things and that the phone will mean more to you if you have something invested into it. how can you make money ? well do chores without having to be asked to do them help out more around the house show you are willing to earn the phone.

See if he will give you allowance for the extra chores, or trade chores for the phone. However renig on the chores can and should be cause for repo of the phone.

  9. wow thats g*y i got a phone. but 5$ aint that much u could look around the house for change that wiil add up to 5 bucks or u could get a job or ask ur mom?

  10. well, you said it, middle school. YOU dont NEED a phone, you want a phone, and you can babysit or do dog poo cleanup. i personally wouldn't give my child a cell phone at 11!

  11. You can try to get a job - which may be hard at your age.

The alternative is to ask your dad if there are chores around the house that you could do for him in exchange for those $5 each month.

If nothing else - family member (I.E: grandparents) are a great choice. haha
