Im in milan, what is the cheapest way to get around europe?

i am going to be studying opera in Milan and i want to go travel over to other European countries every weekend

any good suggestions where i should visit

You should buy an Eurail pass.  Make sure you buy it before you leave for Milan (i.e. it is much cheaper if you buy it in the US before you leave).  You can buy the pass for a specific number of travel days.  You get unlimited travel for the day that you are using the pass.  So, in your case, you could use it for the day you are traveling to the destination you want to go to and on the day that you do your return travel - which makes it two days per week.  

      In the long run, it should save you money over having to buy a train ticket each time you want to travel.  Also, if the area you want to travel to is near to Milan, you may want to just take the bus for that weekend.
