  1. Hof's Hut in the marina used to be quite nice

  2. Not sure how old 'older crowd' is, but these are places my 60 something plus parents like when they come to visit me.

They are upscale and can be pricey. I would call them special event locations.

Try the Sky Room or Sky Bar on Ocean. They have dinner, dancing and live music. It's on the 18th floor of the Breakers Hotel and it was built in 1926. It has quite the history if you look at their website.

Michael's on Naples is a great spot and they have a nice rooftop bar. It's on 2nd St. in Naples.

555 East is also another place to try. It's also on Ocean and the have very good steaks.

The websites have pictures and the menus online.

  3. Don't know what your budget is, but McKenna's on the Bay is in the Long Beach Marina and it's a little more upscale and I believe they have piano music in the evenings.

If you are looking for something a little more "fun" you could try O'Malley's on Main St. in Seal Beach - they have great food - no live music, but the place gets pretty full on the weekends and it's a good mixed crowd - good drinks - my hubby and I used to go there on date nights b/c it was busy, but not TOO busy and more "happening" than just going to dinner

There is also a place on Pine Ave that called Alegria - I've never eaten there but it looked great - I considered it for my small company's christmas party. They have live music, seating that is right on Pine so it's good for people watching http://www.alegriacocinalatina.com/ My friend has been there and she liked the food

Now- this is a GREAT website, but there is a lot of info and there are many possibilities on here, so I tried to give you a few that I could think of off of the top of my head but may be you can see something on the website that you've heard of or seen and it can spark some ideas for you http://www.visitlongbeach.com/listings/i...

p.s. I forgot to mention La Palapa's in Long Beach - GREAT food - good atmosphere and on the weekends they have live music! http://www.lapalapadelmar.com/default.as... - don't pay any attention to the wedding info - they have a banquet room upstairs for weddings

  4. I LOVE Tantalum!!!!!!! I'm 34 and It's a great place to hang out and they usually have live music playing....just ask the hostess. VERY NICE PLACE and the food is really good. This place is great, but make reservations and ask for a water view. Have fun!!!
