  1. How long will it take to apply for and receive a tourist visa?

Typical wait time for a visa appointment is approximately 13 calendar days; wait time to actually receive an approved visa is 2 working days.

    Website for US Embassy Manila:

How long will you be permited to stay on your tourist visa?

The date stamped on your visa is the date by which you need to seek entry into the US.  At the Port of Entry, a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer will stamp your I-94 (small white card) with the maximum length of stay authorized.  Generally, tourists are given 6-months stay, but the officer may give less time if it is warranted.  More time is highly unlikely.

If you find that you require more time in the US, after you have arrived, you should contact the nearest USCIS office to request an extension.  Be advised that extensions are expensive to apply for, and not guaranteed.

  2. Ususally the visa you will get will allow you multiple entry to the US and have a validity fo between 3 to 10 years. That means that you can come and go (meaning you have to leave) to the US many time in the span of your visa's validity. The length of stay each time is determined by the immigration officer at your port of entry. Usually 90 days but you can extend this.**
