  1. Regardless of what state you reside in, the answer still remains the same.  It isn't a question about what to do to remove the reeds but more about your legal right to do so.  In all probability, you don't own the lake and its surrounding shoreline.  Even assuming you do, there is still an issue to be reckoned with pertaining to what your state department of natural resources will or won't allow you to do to natural habitat which could be home to a variety of birds, fish and mammals.  The best answer you can get and the ONLY one I would heed would be that coming from your local department of natural resources when you ask them that same question.  In the event they actually give you the green light (which I doubt sincerely that they will) there are both chemical and mechanical methods of vegetation removal which they can inform you of as well.  Lacking that, I would find a nice canoe with a duck-billed push pole to pole myself out to the open water and uncrowded fishing opportunities.  Once you have packed down a path or two to the open water, repetitious usage will make and keep the effort much easier.  Good luck!

  2. Aquacide! woorks great. but contact the DNR 1st and ask if you could do it. Since its used for hunting, i suggest u leave the reeds and such for the hunters so you dont get a bad rep. If all else fails, put on some waders get a sicle and gloves and clear out a section on the lake.

  3. get a brush hog and make a path to where u need to get to

  4. It would be much easier, and much more productive, and much more fun, to just get a small paddle boat to fish out of.

  5. There's not really a quick one day solution to them. But here's a link to some information to help.
