"The Skin I'm In" was a good one I read around your age. It deals with racism and sexism, both very good topics/issues for a speech.

Try the chinese cinderella. it is a true story about an unwanted chinese daughter. It is age approprate and is really good.

All very great. Not boring. Very interesting. You feel for all the characters.

PS: If you haven't read "The Outsiders", you should even if you don't do the speech on it. I read it and really got through to me. It's sad, yet a very powerful story.
