Im 14 years old, Ive been playing Tennis at the ages of... 6 (for.. a year?) then I stopped. I started playing again at 12, and now Im 14. Im pretty good at the game and I've been told that I am quite talented. I obviously know that I wont become Pro (neither do I want to really), but what do you guys suggest I do to maximize the enjoyment I get from Tennis? Is there such thing as a "semi-pro" level?

  1. The first user here has very good advice. There are plenty of amateur and age-group tournaments operating in the US under the USTA. Find the level where you feel you fit in the best talent-wise, and simply try to attend tournaments when convenient. If you continue to improve, you could even go up level by level, until, who knows, you might be an amateur qualifier into a US open warm up event!

  2. Join USTA and play in the tournaments. No matter what level you are you can find a tournament that fits you, for example you might want to try an L6 to start with but if you re pretty good then you can go to L5. The bottom line is playing USTA tournaments is the best thing for you and I think maybe the only thing to do. You should try out for your school team if there is one. Another recommendation is to try and get a coach, they know what they re doing and can tell you what you should be playing and doing. Hope that helps.

  3. dont join USTA, join OTA    :P
