Im a 21 year old girl. Ive always enjoyed watching motocross on tv or in movies, but i have no experience with a dirtbike or anything. Do 21 year olds start out learning motocross in a club? or do people usually learn when they are younger? Because i dont want to do it if im going to be the oldest one there and only learning...

  1. Never too old to start a new past time.

Good luck, you will love MX riding. 100% better then going to a gym as well !

  2. Girl you should totally go for it

My dads girl friend son does it he is 17 and I go to the races and it is AWESOME

When I ride on the back with him it is so much fun

When he first taught me to ride his 250 it was a rush, it is so thrilling

you should so tottally go for it

    GOOD LUCK

  3. Yes...You can do this...It is the greatest sport ever..And you will meet sooooooooo many people...

Most people start at a really young age...But you can start at any age..We have a 74 y/o that still races at one of our local tracks...

I think its a great idea!!!

    3 Reasons to race..

#1 Healthy (its a great workout)

#2 Healthy (its a great workout)

    Do you need reason #3??

  4. Go for it!! good idea or not you will still have fun

  5. There are class levels for all ability at riding, but before you decide if you really want to race or not you should really get a bike and learn to ride it first.  You need all the safety gear, armour, pants, jersey, helmet, gloves, goggles, shin guards, elbow guards and boots.

Find a local club that you like and go along for practice days and if possible get some lessons.  Then once you have the feel for the bike you can decide if motocross is really for you or not.

While it is a great sport it really isnt for everyone as in racing you race no matter the weather conditions and a race meet is only generally called off if safety becomes and issue.  There is also very few riders I know who have not had at least one broken bone and many people never get back on the bike once they have injured themselves.

But until you give the sport a go you wont know if it is for you or not.  It can be very rewarding and a lot of fun.

  6. maybe just start off riding the track or if you have somewhere else that is open and you can free ride just start off with that and if you think your ready to start racing go for it

  7. ummm depens cuz im 14 and iv been riding since i was 4 and racing since i was 6 ...but if you have the heart and rlly want to do it .. it takes a lot of comitment and it rlly depends on what u wanna ride.. lyk i race 450's i have two CRF but i also weight about 185 so i didnt wanna race 250.. but its rlly fun  i think u cld do it if u put the heart into it

  8. I was 33 when I got into it. I don't race except against my friends I ride with. Buy a 125, and gear, and do it.

  9. It's never too late to start. What you want to do is get in some time on a track first, don't just go out and start racing. Find a local track or two that holds open practice, your local dirt bike shop can help you find one of needed, and then just start practicing. You will pick up a lot from watching other riders also while you're there. If there is a motocross school offered near by that would be awesome, if not pick up one of Gary Baily's videos. I would spend the rest of this year just practicing, and then try a race next season. Not sure what your physical conditioning is right now, but motocross is one of the most physically demanding sports in the world so you may want to start training now also for next season.
