  1. a big difference my dear, "was" is the past tense of "is" while where means a question refers to "what place". maybe you would like to ask about "were"??? it is the past tense of "are". you're question is so simple. are you a korean???

  2. WHERE:  A place or space, at, in, to what situation, position, direction, circumstances, or respect

WAS:  Non action verb; past 1st & 3d singular of be

  3. was is used in singular and where is used in plural

  4. was is more in the past tense.

where is where a place is or where something is

  5. Was means something in the past. For say, "this was where i was playing soccer." In other words, the person in the sentence was playing there, but isn't anymore.

Was is past tense. A past tense is a sentence or word that describes or states something in the past. This could be an action (was doing) or simply a description (is was tall, and big...)

Where is another word for place. When you say where, you're stating somewhere without actually saying the place's name.

I.e.) "David was standing near the light pole"

" I was standing where David was standing."

You have substituted where for the light pole.

Where also is usually a question; its known as the 5 W's of the English language. I've listed them below for you:

    - Who

    - What

    - Where

    - When

    - Why

Questions such as, "Where is my pencil", "Where did you take my books?" simply state a particular place.

If you have any other questions, message me. I major in English with a 96% average

Also, if you're also referring to "When":

When is pretty much the opposite of was. When is the future. "When is she coming?" or "When will it rain."

When suggests a time, place, and even a meeting point.

However, when can also be past "when i was little..."

When is pretty much a description or question.

  6. Where is a question referring to a place, so my guess is that you are asking the difference between "was" and "were".  The difference is in the person.  Was is used in the first and third person singular (I was, he was, etc.), while were is used in the second person singular and in all plurals (we were, you were, they were).

  7. where refers to a place.

was denotes past tense in a sentence

  8. was means was and when means when

    lol
