If you dive into a nine foot pool and blow out air through your nose the whole time, can you reach the serface without moving a muscle?

  2. no you couldn't because your nose ir isn't going to act like a propeller. If you look it up on google it will say that too.

  3. Yes as long as your body is positioned vertically.

    But there are other factors such as how much bleach you have in the pool. The more bleach you have the more harder it gets. Also it depends on the height from which you dive in. The higher you dive from the more chance you have of reaching the bottom.

The scientific answer would be that when you fully breathe in, your lungs can hold about 5-6 litres of air which is lighter than water and thus it will bring you back to the surface in a shorter time. However, if you blow this air out you will eventually float back to the surface because your body has a smaller density than the water's but it will take considerably more time for you to reach the surface. The feeling that "you can't reach it" is because you're running out of air and your body urgently needs oxygen, and then you panic and start to propel yourself upwards.
