Im just wondering why do babies cant sleep?

i have 3rd month old baby and have read when babies are teething they dont sleep that much? i never experience this but i know few days from now it will happen to my baby too.but how come they dont sleep taht much? does it really iritate them when they are sleeping? what the best solution if this happen? any guidelines mom out there.thanks in advance..

  1. Just because you have a 3 month old does not mean she will be teething in a few days just because you read in a book it can happen to 3 month olds!  It could still be months.

    Have you ever had a toothache?  That's what a baby is having with teething.  However, they also produce more saliva, and don't realize they should swallow it, so that makes it hard to sleep.  And if they do figure out how to swallow it, it can upset their tummy.  Plus, they tend to suck/chew on toys which are probably germy (in a good way), and might get an upset tummy.

    The big thing is pain.  It hurts to get a new tooth.

  3. I think they're just like normal people. Haha it's like if somethings irritating them they might wake up or sleep through it. The only reason they'll cry is because they're afraid of the dark or forget where they are...I don't know i'm just guessing haha hope it helps!!
