  1. I'm taking a wild guess based on the information you've supplied, but  I imagine he's talking about the size of the cup in the optic nerve.  The nerve is round and has a hole in it, like a donut.  This hole should be about 1/3 the size of the entire nerve.  He may be estimating that it's 2/3 the size, which would be larger than normal (though not necessarily a disease).  And you could have one larger cup than that of the other eye.  In this case they are considered asymmetric (not the same size between the two eyes.)  Again, that doesn't necessarily mean you have a disease.  It could just be the way you developed.  Some people have one hand or one foot larger than the other....not a disease.

On the other hand, a condition known as glaucoma can make one of the nerves appear larger than the other because the disease is eating one away.  This is of concern, because you can lose eyesight.  This is very rare in someone your age.  More than likely, he just wants to document it and monitor it for change over time.  Again, this is all based on what information you could give.  Hope it helps.
