  1. If you want birds that live 100 or more a parrot would be nice.

I personally think Zebra Finches are the right choice. I have four. two of them left the nest a while ago. They are fun, interesting, inexpensive, cute, funny, and easy to take care of. The make squeaky noises, but are noisy if you raise chicks like I do.

  2. Parrots? Oh pa-leaz! They are mean! Every time I pet one, they bite me and peck me and call me weird names! Some are doodleindh! Yuuht! Ugdus! I forget the rest. Get a canary. They can be really nice pets! My babysitters friend had one and she sang at dusk and in the morning. She sang so beautifully! Tweet tweet twwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Hehttp://media-2.web.britannica.com/eb-med... here is a photograph of one! THEY ROCK!!1

  3. Cockatiels are friendly and very easy to train and have a long lifespan mine is 15 years old and still very playful and frisky. Finchs only live 2 years. Parrots are very noisy ,loud and can be mean. Parakeets i've had several lived only a year or two. Cockatiels are most often seen in nursing  homes cuz they are friendly and easily trained. They also will mimic sounds of other birds or whistling and can be taught to talk.

  4. I think you should do some research on the internet using search engines, find some breeders (or check the bird rescues or animal rescues) in your area, go visit the birds, and then make up your own mind about which one you would like.  It will be a really good way to learn alot about birds, and you'll be making an informed decision.  :)  good luck!

  5. I would recommend a cockatiel because they are friendly and they don't require much work.  You just need to spend at least 30-40 minutes each day with the bird.

  6. I just got a pineapple conure (yellow-sided green cheeked).  I have owned a few other birds and this one is the friendliest one yet.  I am able to pet her everywhere.   She is very playful and wants to be with you all the time.  When mine is out of the cage she follows me around the house.  She even falls asleep on my shoulder.  Conures can be aggressive if they are not played with enough.  They don't really bite hard just hard enough to let you know if they don't like something.  She is from the Pyrrhura family so she is not the loud type of conure.  They have so many colors.  They can talk, but not that well.  They will probably say a few phrases.  Conures are intelligent and can learn how to do tricks.   They live around 10-20 years.

Get a book about parrots.  One that will give you a description of the different types of parrots and also one that gives you pictures of the birds.  When you do get a bird make sure your bird has been hand feed.

Cockatiels and budges are known for being good starter birds because they are easier to care for and are not very aggressive.  I have had both of those also and they are very good birds.  They are both parrots also.

  7. Birds are great pets!  I would recommend finding out what kinds of birds are in your price range and are most easy for you to care for before you commit to buying a bird.  www.petfinder.com is a excellent resource for bird lovers and the birds that are listed to adopt on their webpage are birds who are up for adoption instead of buying them from a bird breader.

  8. For an excellent bird, i would start with a parakeet, get a small cage, that way its easy to take care of.
