I tried one class of Kung Fu, but it was repetittive and boring like Yoga. I am insterested in Tae Kwan Do, Krav Maga, Jiu Jitsu, Haikido, etc.. I like the martial side of things. Lots of contact and sparring, not too much repetiitve stuff since I get bored easily.

  1. Aikido might be what you want

  2. I took Judo all the way up to brown belt, and it was never once boring.  It's a particuarly good art for people of smaller stature (like I am) and for people who would rather not be on the business end of someone who already knows Kung Fu, Tae Kwan Do etc.  Give it a look!

  3. Depends if your experianced or not. Like you said you only did ONE class of kung fu. They were probably trying to go easy on you if you were a beginner. Iv been doing taekwondo and hapkido for 3 years and I love it. Lotsa sparring and kicking. It all depends what you want it for-     self defense (krav maga is best for that since its more realistic) ground work (jiu jutsu or judo) sport (sport karate) weapons (eskrima, kendo, kobudo) or all of them ( real karate (okinawian style)  or real taekwondo or maybe some bjj) it all depends on your pesonal preference.

Most martial arts would probably be a bit repetitive for the first few classes because they won't teach you advanced techniques. You want all out fighting go muay thai. But when you advance you get heapsof moves and techniques and its pretty challenging to remember them all.

So maybe if you actually stayed in a class you might learn some new techniques. Just because you went for 1 class doesn't mean you can say you have done it.

Remember all martial arts need COMITTMENT

    Good luck

  4. u should do taekwondo they will teach u lots of stuff....

  5. i would have to say brazilian jiu jitsu (no gi Bjj) its very fun healthy and low injury, i do mma like another person recomended witch is a very good martial art like he said you have bjj, muay thai, boxing wrestling all those elements. plus the cardio would really help. ans every martial art is repetitive, you need to do things so much that it will be second nature, if you dont like that mybe martial arts isint for you.

  6. I'd say Taekwondo ! Cuz its a lot of fun and there's always new kicks to learn and sparing is the most fun for my and my all the people in my school!

  7. How bout MMA(MIXED MARTIAL ARTS) you can learn at least 3 different styles of martial arts, ther is the sparing and optional competiting.

  8. you answered your own question lol

though i think you meant hapkido rather than haikido, or maybe aikido. ...all arts are repetitive, thats how you engrain things.

taekwondo, and aikido are not very "martial" ...they are sports. as is jujutsu if you mean brazilian jujutsu. they wont really prepare you too well for some aspects of self defense.

thing is...you want to always be learning new stuff. so you will never be any good at anything. you have to practice the things you already know in order to get good at them.

anyway...what are your goals? sport? self defense? just fun? health? ...my answer would depend on your answer.

also you are limited to what is available to you in your area. find out. and then decide.

if you want more specifics from me you can email me if you like. i dont feel like going on a bit lecture right now lol (if you do plz send me your regular email, not your answers email box.

  9. I say you should do capoeira..you say you get bored easily, but you'll be dancing and having fun while your learning to defend yourself. so you just might like it.
