Extended stay on Lemarchant road is fairly cheap and close to downtown

this site has a list of hotels in the St.John's area and reveiws of the rooms if you click them, also a link to the hotels website where you can book online. I do belive that the Battey hotel currently has a promotion where you pay for 2 nights and get the third night free.
